"I don't like to hear cut and dried sermons. No—when I hear a man preach, I like to see him act as if he were fighting bees!" -Abraham Lincoln
I am allergic to bee stings, but recently I realized that I cannot live my life in fear of bees. What would life be like if I never went outside during bee season? If I need to fight the fear of bees to live, really live, life then I will fight the bees. Sure, I may get stung. I may even have to go to a hospital. But I'm not going to let that stop me.
I'm also taking on the bees of life--the nagging questions that might sting us if we try to answer them. Facing these bees requires actually asking the tough questions... and being willing to admit our own ignorance or apathy. This is not about winning and losing.
This is about authentic living--living without the fear of being stung.
